How Much Money Does Facebook Owe You? First Workshop Results
Calculators of the economic value extracted from our time and attention debuted in Milan
We hosted a crucial meeting to learn how to quantify the economic exploitation carried out by social media platforms on our daily behaviors.
This blog post presents the findings from the first workshop on digital exploitation held in Milan on May 10, 2026, at the editorial office of Scomodo. The Italian equivalent post discusses how users are active producers of unpaid informational value, and documents the gameplay experiment to calculate exactly how much money Big Tech extracts from our daily digital behaviors.
We are planning to roll out this digital wealth reclamation tool across the entire European Union; however, our actual test workshops and calculator trial runs are currently limited to Milan and Rome.
